About this objectA Sheraton's Steel Fillet was used to ease the delivery of a baby. The loop or fillet section was hinged so that it could be folded to ease and adjust the insertion, then when it was in the correct position, the loop could be opened to increase the grip on the baby. This design was first shown to the Obstetrical Society, London in 1869.
