Everything You Wanted to Know about Bodysnatching but Were Afraid to Ask: In Conversation with Suzie Lennox

£5

Virtual Event

Join us on Thursday, 29 July, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm for an in-depth conversation about all things bodysnatching with Suzie Lennox, author of Bodysnatchers: Diggin Up the Untold Stories of Britain’s Resurrection Men and the popular blog Digging Up 1800: Dissecting the Criminal Underworld of Britain’s Body Snatchers. She has also appeared in BBC Two’s Britain’s Biggest Dig discussing body snatching with Professor Alice Roberts and is a member of the Crime Writer’s Association. Suzie has been studying the macabre world of body snatching since 2005 and will come ready to unravel some of the most unsavoury stories associated with the Resurrection Men. There are no guarantees about where the discussion will lead us, but we can say for sure that the infamous case of Burke & Hare as well as other anecdotes that may or may not include dressing up the dead to take them in a long trip to the dissection rooms migth make an appearance. Get your questions ready and join us in this journey through the dark side of anatomy studies in Georgian and Victorian Britain.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions via the ‘chat’ function at the end of the conversation.

*All income from ticket sales go to support the upkeep of the museum and the collection.
