These terms and conditions apply to the use of The Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret’s Museum’s online shop (www.oldoperatingtheatre.com).

Please read through these terms and conditions carefully. You will be required to accept these terms and conditions in order to complete the ordering process on oldoperatingtheatre.com. If you do access the website, and / or place an order, by doing so you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions as set out below.

How to Order

All orders must be placed online through the website using the shopping cart facility provided. Please do not e-mail your card details. No responsibility can be taken for the security of your details if given this way.

Method of Payment

You can pay using Credit / Debit card. Your payment will be processed with SagePay secure card processing. Payment is taken as soon as the order is received. We are unable to accept cheques, cash, postal, or telephone orders for website orders.

Orders will only be processed if you provide the card holder’s name as it is shown on the card together with the postcode that appears on the card statement. No responsibility can be taken by the Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret for incorrect or incomplete details submitted on the website. Card fraud is illegal and perpetrators will be prosecuted.

Postage, Packing and Shipping Information

We offer worldwide shipping using UK Royal Mail. Shipping costs are calculated by weight and destination.

You will be able to select which shipping option you would like on the checkout page.

If you would like to be able to track your order, please make sure you select and pay for a tracked shipping option. 

You will receive one email confirmation once your payment has been processed and a second email confirmation once your order has been dispatched. Delivery estimates are from the date you receive the second email. 

Last Dates for Holiday Orders

These are based on the recommended last posting dates provided by Royal Mail, however, seasonal delays are to be expected, and we can not guarantee any delivery date. UK Royal Mail 1st and 2nd Class – order by Friday, 17th December

Royal Mail International Standard and Tracked
Europe – order by Saturday, the 11th December

Royal Mail International Standard and Tracked
USA & Canada – order by Saturday, the 11th December 

All online orders placed with us before the end of day Friday, 17th December will be processed and dispatched on Saturday, 18th December. 

Any orders placed after the 17th of December will not be processed until we return in January, 2022.

Delivery Times

We aim to process and ship all orders within 3-5 working days.
Delivery estimates are from the date you receive your shipping confirmation email stating your order has been dispatched.

  • International Economy (All Destinations) – 2-4 weeks 
  • International Standard + Tracked (Europe) – 3-5 working days
  • International Standard + Tracked (Worldwide) – 7-10 working days

Packaging

We take great care to package each and every order safely, securely, and sustainably. All of our bespoke items are wrapped in black tissue paper and sealed with an Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret sticker, and all our fragile items, such as mugs and jewellery, are wrapped with extra paper and cardboard for added protection. We also only use recyclable padded envelopes.

Returns Policy

The Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret team want you to enjoy your experience shopping with us, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at shop@oldoperatingtheatre.com and we will be happy to help.

If you are unhappy with your purchase, or it is damaged in transit, please write to us within fourteen (14) working days of receiving your goods, and return it to us at the address below, in its original condition within 14 days of receiving the item, unopened (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact) and we will issue you a full refund or replace it.

Items must be returned within 14 days of the cancellation date, unused, unopened (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact) and accompanied by a copy of the original order confirmation.

Items delivered to an overseas address must be returned within 30 days of the cancellation date, unused, unopened (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact) and accompanied by a copy of the original order confirmation.

Goods must be returned at your own cost and we would recommend that you return the goods by recorded delivery. We can only accept the return, and refund opened items if they are faulty.

Cancellation Policy

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 provide the right to customers to cancel their order at any time prior to delivery and up to fourteen (14) working days after receiving the goods, starting on the day after you receive the goods.

If you wish to cancel your order during the fourteen (14) day period please notify us by email at shop@oldoperatingtheatre.com.

If you have already received your goods, you must return the goods at your own cost, to the address below, within fourteen (14) working days of the cancellation date.

Refunds will be made within fourteen (14) days of the cancellation date, to the card which you originally used for the purchase.

Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
